Originally from Estonia, I am interested in the fragile boundary between lived environments and the images through which we attempt to understand them. My photographs are both documentary and fictive, by blending careful observation with imaginative reconstruction, I attempt to mediate how histories of fascination, connection, and sacrifice have persisted. This way of working allows the image to function as a site of unexplored potential where something can surprise or interrupt our assumptions about reality.
